A Packaging Company Passionate about Eco-Friendly – SR Mailing

As a company whose main mission is to reduce waste and be as close to zero-waste as possible, we have spent a lot of time looking at eco-friendly packaging options. Part from we design and manufacture 100% recycled mailing bags but but that is just the tip of the iceberg. In this post, we'll cover some of the things we considered while selecting the packaging options for our products.

Packaging is big business, especially with so many companies partaking in e-commerce. The options for packing supplies are virtually endless and, yet, the sustainability and impact of different materials is very nuanced. It's difficult to wade through the sea of eco-myths surrounding packaging choices, as, with anything, there are pros and cons to using paper vs. plastic vs. bio-plastics.

For us, sustainability isn't just about a material's end-of-life/ where materials end up once they are consumed. We try to look at the whole life-cycle of a material when selecting packaging options. Some of the things we consider include: raw material extraction, renewable or non-renewable raw materials, manufacturing resource implications, and end-of-life options (recyclability/ biodegradability).

Our customer normally in fashion business, when we thinking of eco-friendly packaging we primarily use paper based packaging, our PIP and small parcel boxes are light weight and fit very well with Royal Mail dimension, not only that we have sourced recycled corrugated content to cut down on the impact of virgin paper manufacturing and distribution.

It was very important to us to source an eco-friendly tape option to secure our packages as we believe every little transition count and adds up to a big difference.

Our paper packing tape features solvent-free adhesive and is SFI Certified (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) and it’s contains 100% total recycled content, not only that the tape core is recyclable with mixed papers as well.

Clear polythene wallet with a self-adhesive slit reverse and silicone release liner, enabling a document to be inserted prior to removal of the release liner. This envelope made from OXO-biodegradable, it’s light weight and significantly dissolve faster in the presence of oxygen than conventional plastics, turning into supposedly harmless biodegradable matter over a period of a few months to a few years.
